Three Chinese Projects Selected for a Mentoring Program

Following the call for projects launched at the Beijing International Audiovisual Conference 2024, Sunny Side of the Doc, in cooperation with CICC (China Intercontinental Communication Center), has selected three documentary projects from China to be part of a new mentoring initiative.

This initiative is part of the new Sunny Academy support program for emerging documentary talents, designed to provide key insights into accessing the international documentary market.

“These success stories not only bring together China’s incredible cultural richness, cutting-edge production capabilities, and expanding domestic market, but they also create an opportunity for international storytellers to bring their narratives to a wider, more diverse audience.” says Aurélie Reman,  Managing Director at Sunny Side of the Doc.

A Tailored Mentoring Experience

The selected Chinese project holders will participate in a comprehensive training program hosted by Sunny Side of the Doc. As part of this initiative, Sunny Side of the Doc has enlisted Taskovski #DocsConnect to provide mentorship to participants for a full week. Through this program, participants will gain valuable insights and connections to help bring their projects to an international audience at the 36th edition of Sunny Side of the Doc in La Rochelle this June.
