Latam Content Meeting Winners Revealed

The very first edition of LatAm Content Meeting has just come to a close, marking a successful debut with over 650 participants from 20 countries. Last night, at the closing ceremony in Rio de Janeiro, LatAm Content Meeting announced the winners of the pitch sessions organized by Sunny Side of the Doc.

The pitch sessions brought together 18 creative teams (chosen between 148 projects), providing them with a platform to present their projects to 80 industry decision-makers. Representatives from major international broadcasters, including Deutsche Welle, Channel 4, France Télévisions, and the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation, were in attendance, alongside executives from NHK Enterprises and many others.

The event also welcomed key figures from national broadcasters such as TV Globo, TV Cultura, Canal Curta!, Band, and Canal Brasil. Additionally, major streaming platforms including Amazon Studios, Warner Group, YouTube, and GloboPlay were present, along with representatives from FAST channels LG and Samsung TV Plus.

Aurélie Réman, Managing Director at Sunny Side of the Doc, celebrates the success of this first edition: "The partnership between Sunny Side of the Doc and the LatAm Content Meeting has exceeded all expectations. This marketplace has brought together filmmakers, producers, distributors, and key executives from 20 countries, proving that this was never meant to be a one-off event. What we’ve seen here in Rio and during our three pitch sessions only reinforces that."

Looking ahead, she emphasizes the importance of continuity: "It’s crucial to ensure this bridge works in both directions. The international potential of Brazilian and Latin American non-fiction content is undeniable, just as global storytelling perspectives can enrich the region’s creative ecosystem. Sunny Side of the Doc is committed to fostering this two-way exchange, which will ultimately strengthen the documentary industry. The next step in this collective journey: La Rochelle, from June 23rd to 26th."
